Richard Vann is the founder and managing director of RVA Group, a specialist demolition and decommissioning consultancy renowned for its expertise in high-hazard environments including the power generation, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas industries.

Since establishing RVA in 1992, he has overseen the successful completion of more than 1,000  projects worldwide, from front-end engineering to large-scale decommissioning, including recent ventures in the Middle East.

With more than 40 years of experience, Richard has worked with major global brands such as BASF, INEOS, ENGIE, ConocoPhillips, and GSK. His contributions to the industry extend beyond project execution: he is a former president of both the Institute of Explosives Engineers and the Institute of Demolition Engineers and has delivered keynote seminars and judged awards at prestigious international events. In recognition of his impact on the profession, he was also named an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Demolition Engineers in 2023.
