Risk Analysis during mechanical demolition of multiple span.

SYNOPSIS

This presentation provides guidance on structural risk analysis during demolition of multiple span bridges by presenting a case study for  demolition planning of the 3-km-long Champlain Bridge. The deconstruction of the original Champlain Bridge in Montreal is performed by the Nouvel Horizon St-Laurent (NHSL) group formed by Pomerleau Inc. and Delsan-A.I.M. Environmental Services Inc. The deconstruction work will be done within the project’s global $400-million envelope. The original Champlain Bridge deconstruction project began in July 2020 and will take place over a period of 43 months, until January 2024.

BIOGRAPHY

Living in Montreal, Canada, Simon has worked in the demolition industry for more than 20 years mainly in Civils infrastructure dismantling. He started his career in the demolition industry in 2001 working has a project manager for a demolition contractor specializes in bridges and Highway overpass removal. After many years of services, Simon joined the Delsan-AIM Environmental Services Team in 2015 to develop and manage the Civils department.

Specialized in Project management, he has a degree in Business administration, a P.M.P. certification and now studying for an MBA.
