SYNOPSIS
Mr. Loizeaux’s presentation is going to cover the types of structures and site circumstances that lend themselves to explosives demolition operations on both standard and emergency projects.
He will cover the pros and cons of explosives applications based on construction, structural configuration, structural condition, and the nature and proximity of adjacent improvements to remain. He will also speak to how our society is changing and how the explosives demolition industry “culture” is responding to those changes.
BIOGRAPHY
Mark Loizeaux is President and Owner of Controlled Demolition Incorporated (CDI), one of the leading international demolition firms performing both conventional and explosives demolition, as well as dismantling operations for a range of clients.
Since CDI was formally founded as an exclusive entity for explosives demolition in 1960, Mark Loizeaux has worked his way up through the company, beginning as a field labourer and becoming president of CDI and chairman of the Loizeaux Group of Companies in 1986.
Mark acts as an expert technical witness on legal claims cases and in technical research committees where such expertise and hands-on experience is required.
He also regularly speaks to professional groups and universities, at safety seminars, and works with regulatory agency committees on different aspects of explosives and demolition operations.
