Managing Principal, Milburn Demolition
TOPIC: Oakmont Point project
The project involved four post-tensioned structures, which were all connected by interior pedestrian bridges.
James attended Purdue University’s Building Construction Management program, where he discovered his interest in the demolition industry. James joined the National Demolition Association while still enrolled at Purdue, and he was a founding member of the first student chapter of the NDA. After college, James worked for two demolition contractors before deciding to start his own business.
James founded MILBURN LLC in 2014, and has worked diligently on growing the company ever since. He’s proud of the incredibly talented team of individuals MILBURN has assembled through the years, from the warehouse staff and laborers to the estimators and operations staff.
Today, James serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the NDA. In 2023, he will become the association’s president for a two-year term. He is also highly active in numerous charities, including (but not limited to) Lambs Farm, Opportunity Knocks, City of Hope, American Cancer Society, Greater Chicago Food Depository, and WonderWorks.
